UYA director Piseth Lun invites you to an invigorating weekend retreat in the lush province of Kep, only 3 hours by car away from the chaos of Phnom Penh. This personal journey of mind and body wellness allows you to detach and recharge by the sea and in the mountains.

This specially tailored retreat will be held at Atmaland Resort, a charming and cozy property on the foothills of Kep National Park with amazing sea and mountain views. Along with a comprehensive yoga practice for all levels, Piseth will lead a forest hike on Friday afternoon and has arranged a trip to Rabbit Island for Saturday afternoon.

Yoga Retreat with Piseth Lun

## Connect and enjoy the beautiful green land, and fresh air. 

On Sunday July 16th, we invite you to another relaxing and impactful mini Yoga retreat with our UYA director Piseth Lun, at Maya Garden close to the tranquil village of Arey Ksat 20 minutes away from Phnom Penh. The invigorating journey starts with a ferry crossing the Mekong river which will bring us to the green land ‘Arey Ksat’. After the ferry then we will head to Maya Garden where we will take good Yoga practice, cooking session, lunch, and the mindful walking around the nearby organic farms. This rustic activity allows us to experience the joys of sustainability and the natural connection of plantations to produce.

Maya Garden is a small community built around nature, sustainability, and simple living. Maya Garden serves authentic Khmer food. All ingredients are fresh, and some vegetables are home-grown. Maya’s mother will share with us her favorite GREEN CURRY for the famous Khmer Nom Banh Chok (Khmer Noodle).

## ABOUT TEACHERS.

Kiri Desborough retreat director is originally from New Zealand and currently living on Sumba Island based at Nihi Resort as their resident Pilates and Yoga teacher. She is a self-confessed ‘Anatomy biomechanics + physiology geek’ highly motivated as an education focused instructor giving tools to encourage daily movement practice to be a non negotiable in everyone’s lives.
Kiri is a mother, traveler and gypsy girl at heart. Kiri has spent over 20 years working in health & fitness as an impassioned wellness advocate with a holistic approach and Kiri’s soul mission is to help others heal through movement. Her Organic Movement & Functional Medicine Classes are very much a fusion of her experience as a Dancer, Pilates, Yoga, Barre, Personal Trainer & rehabilitation specialist.
With a burning passion for helping you improve yourself holistically, in mind, in heart, in body, and in spirit. Kiri enjoys facilitating retreats in nature, naturally inviting you to relax, Kiri specializes in movement practices that reset the nervous system. Soul Print retreats are a full immersive experience activating the body’s own natural healing.

Aalya has been practicing Hatha yoga for 27 years all around the world. In 2019, she received a 200-hour certification from the Sivananda School of Yoga, associated with the International Yoga Alliance. She particularly enjoys working with and addressing each individual’s challenges and capabilities as she appreciates that no two bodies are alike.

YOGA RETREAT: Rediscover and reconnect to your true Soul Print

**December 16-18, 2022**

Yoga has become a popular system to improve fitness and mental well-being. Its further benefits are improved focus and stress release. However, in the ancient times, yoga was woven into daily life and was in fact used in decision making. Yoga rituals and philosophy were also vital to the organisation of ancient Cambodian society. 

**“Yoga’s purpose goes beyond the physical into the achievement of balance in life and the search for a better way of living. The more you study and practice yoga, the smarter you would live your life and the better choices you will make,” says Piseth Lun, co-founder of United Yoga Asia (UYA).**

In this retreat, Piseth will introduce his experiences where he applied principles of modern yoga lineages and ancient Cambodian philosophy that led him to become dedicated to yoga for life. Mornings begin with asana and chanting and afternoons will cover Cambodian and yogic history and philosophy. We invite you to end this year and start 2023 in a meditative mindset.

About Piseth:
Piseth is a Co-Founder and Lead Teacher at United Yoga Asia. He is a certified international Yoga teacher who has undertaken serious study of the Yoga system including Philosophy and Yoga Therapy.

Piseth joined the Yoga mission in Cambodia in 2008, since then he works full time as a Yoga teacher and manage different Yoga projects including yoga teacher trainings. He studied with world renowned teachers in the hatha yoga tradition including Ashtanga and Iyengar systems.

Piseth based in Phnom Penh, and he travels around SEA for continuing his study and teaching. He teaches yoga to students of all levels and helps them deepen their yoga practice with safety and joy.

John Ang is a Co-founder of United Yoga Asia and has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. With his experience as a yoga teacher and an MA in Asian Art, John has developed a distinct style of teaching that uses Khmer ancient history as a foundation for his retreats and classes.

John’s strength as a yoga teacher comes from a deep understanding of yoga beyond its physical benefits. To him, yoga is not merely a form of exercise. It is a way of life that connects you to your inner being and is influenced by your attitude to food, meditation, exercise and/or contributions to society. In his classes, John illustrates how asanas (yoga poses) can activate internal organs such as the spleen and allow internal energies like chakras to flow for maximum overall good health.

# About John:
A yoga class at a gym in Taipei in 2000 hooked John into this practice. He completed his yoga teacher training course at California gym in Taipei. He wanted to share his life changing love for yoga so much so that he started teaching from his home in 2002. Two years later, he opened a yoga studio with a vegetarian restaurant and massage rooms. This model led the trend for yoga studios with cafes and wellness facilities in Taiwan. He also taught specialised yoga classes catering to the special needs of kids and men. 

John was always interested in ancient South East Asian cultures and a yoga charity brought him to Phnom Penh in the early 2000s. In 2006, he started teaching yoga to young girls rescued from sex trafficking at the NGO NataRaj Yoga in Phnom Penh. After 8 years of training, many of them became accredited yoga teachers.

John did further training at Samahita in Koh Samui, Thailand with Paul Dallaghan. and received accreditation in 2007.
